Stores and Parts Advisor

We have a full-time vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to join the Parts Department of our esteemed family business, which is this year celebrating its 50 anniversary and 40 years as a Fendt dealer. Specialising in a diverse range of tractors and machinery tailored for the fruit and vine industry, we are able to provide the right candidate with exciting opportunities for long-term career progression. The role involves direct customer interaction and encompasses tasks such as ordering, receiving, and selling parts and accessories.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Strategically organising parts within the retail and stores area
  • Contributing to efficient stock control and profitability of the department
  • Checking and receiving supplier orders into stock
  • Dealing with all aspects of sales orders, including picking, packing and despatching customer orders via courier
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers face-to-face and over the phone
  • Ensuring the display retail area is well presented, clean and stocked up
  • Accurately identifying parts using various online and offline systems
  • Conducting general administrative tasks within the department

Skills required:

  • A foundational understanding of agricultural machinery and parts with a keenness to expand this knowledge
  • Prior experience working in a stores environment is advantageous
  • Excellent IT skills (training on how to use our specialised software will be provided)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload, be highly organised and operate calmly under pressure
  • Good sense of initiative and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work efficiently as part of team
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths

Agricultural Engineer/ Technician

We have a full-time permanent vacancy for an experienced Agricultural Engineer/ Technician to join our small family business. We are renowned as specialists in a range of tractors (including Fendt) and machinery for the fruit and vine industry.

The role will include servicing, diagnosing, and repairing orchard and vineyard tractors, the majority of which will be Fendt. Our technicians also repair and maintain sprayers and a wide range of other machinery.

Work will be carried out both on-farm and at our Avon Works site in Kent, as such a full driving licence is necessary.

The ideal candidate would have an understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems, welding and fabrication skills, be computer literate, and have experience within the agricultural, horticultural or viticultural industries. Training will be given where required.

There is an expectation of employees to attend occasional training courses for updates on products and sales techniques which may require an overnight stay.

This position is based on a 40-hour working week with an 8am start, however the successful candidate would be expected to be flexible and work overtime during the week if needed.
