Grading Projects
This year we have done several packhouse installations, both upgrading existing equipment and new installations. For our recent projects we have supplied Aweta grading lines, Burg bin dumping and unloading systems, ITO (now Aweta Sistemi) bin fillers, tray packers and Perfect or Burg bin tippers.
One recent project was to supply and install a replacement grading system with the following requirements:
1) Replace existing grading line in order to increase output of grading apples including bramley, and pears
2) To grade a maximum of 100 bins per day
3)With automatic bin handling system capable of handling both pears and apples up to 20 bins per hour
Our solution:
Burg APL & POLSAP automatic bin unloader and water dumping system. The unloader is computer controlled and works in conjuction with the water dumping system, it de-stacks and then re-stacks the bins. It has the space for three full and three empty bins at once. The water dumper then takes a full bin of fruit, inverts the bin into the water, tilting the bin as the fruit floats out. The empty bin is then taken away and de-stacked ready for a pallet truck or forklift to remove.
The fruit then floats down water channel and over a brush/sponge dryer and onto the singulator to: Aweta cup grader where the computer scans for colour, diameter and weight sorting. The grader has four lanes with twelve outlets and is equipped with a computer which controls and guides the entire line, from feeding belts to the packing equipment as well as the actual grading and sorting. The outlets include four packing stations, round packing table, a new ITO single head double bin filler, and to an existing polybag machine.
The Aweta CS Colour Scan grading system is able to distinguish over 16 million different colours, more than 4 million colour measurements and able to fully scan and grade more than 25 products per second.

Machine requirements :
1)To spray five rows of table-top strawberries in one pass under tunnels
2) Maximum width between rows of only 500mm
3)Able to be driven by a 26hp compact tractor
Our solution was an air assisted straddle sprayer with a small but powerful fan unit and of the following specifications:
300 litre tank
AR503 55 litre/min pump
Manual folding boom
Optional hydraulic fold
2 nozzle diffuser head
Output of up to 1000 litres per hectare
This machine has just finished one season very successfully. If you are interested in one of these sprayers we are able to build machines to suit your individual requirements so please ask.
