The Darwin mechanical thinning machine

A patented machine that was first developed in Germany in the early 1990's. The machine is used to mechanically thin suitably planted orchards. Front mounted and hydraulically driven with a variable speed spindle head. This will be available for trial and sale in early 2009.

Perfect double sided front mounted pruning sweep

This machine is not entirely new but not many growers have considered it until now. Keeping your tree or vine rows clean prevents fungus and disease developing which in turn reduces the amount of spraying required. This machine very effectively cleans out prunings, leaves and debris from in the tree or vine row. Working widths from 2.8 metres to 4.10 metres and the sweeper heads run on support wheels for optimum terrain adjustment. This machine is also available single sided for front mounting or for mounting on a machine.

OCLL vineyard sprayer

We have dealt with this italian manufacturer of sprayers for many years and they are now producing a mounted tunnel sprayer with recirculating system. We will have further details shortly.

OCLL strawberry duster

A small tractor mounted sulphur duster suitable for use in strawberries and vines. With two outlets and able to cover an 8 metre tunnel width.

Frostguard

Further to the popular Frostbuster, the small stand alone Frostguard has been developed to frost protect small areas. This machine, once the petrol engine is started, runs without supervision in situ. The fan outlet rotates 360 degrees continuously to protect an oval or circular area. Machines can be spaced out in groups in relation to the shape of the area to be protected. With a low level outlet (Type L) for trees close together the area protected would be at least an oval of 50 X 60 metres. With the outlet above the machine (Type H), for trees further apart or crops such as strawberries and raspberries the diameter protected would be up to 100 metres.
